Boutique Styled

Finding inspiration, planning and crafting a look is one of the most rewarding experiences as a photographer. This was such a fun photoshoot and having images that are boutique styled is what I love to do for my clients.

Just moving into a new area I didn’t have any contacts to put together a team, but I was jonesing to shoot!  I needed a model, hair and make-up, and and if possible a stylist or boutique willing to loan some killer looks.

So I started with Instagram – #tampamodels.  It took all of 30 minutes to find this incredibly talented young lady, who just happened to be a hair and make-up artist, KDLR Beauty Labs. Score! I pitched her a simple NY Street lifestyle theme, and said I was working on getting wardrobe, and we picked a tentative date.  I had no idea what I got myself into! Kristin loved the idea, and threw herself into the concept, sharing images and styles, and looks, and plans for other shoots…we hadn’t even finished the first one!

Now I needed wardrobe fast.  I hit the street the next and didn’t even have to go far.  Right across from my apartment is LMB Boutique one of the hippest and best curated boutique collections in Tampa! The moment I walked in the door I knew I was in the right place. I introduced myself to Jackie, and showed her some of my work, told her the plan and that I was looking to partner with a boutique to showcase some trends and styles.  I don’t know if it was my enthusiasm that won her over, or that the stars just aligned, but Jackie was all about it, and I have to say she nailed the wardrobe selection!

Now the thing about inspiration is that sometimes it starts you in one direction and you end up in another. I had an idea for a New York style street shoot, but we are in Florida. So what I ended up with wasn’t exactly what I envisioned, but it is EXACTLY what I wanted to capture.  That spark of inspiration can turn into just about anything.

Jackie is flat out amazing! This was the first look we started with – I’ll admit it was the flare jeans that did it for me I’ve been dying to shoot some crazy bell bottom jeans forever!  The Larissa jeans by Mavi are perfect. We matched that with the lavender tie-die sweater and a racerback bralette. To pull it all together Jackie added in the Hobo tasseled purse and a pearl and leather necklace designed by Monya Flora.  LMB seriously has so many options I could get lost putting together outfits in here!

All we needed to bring to Florida now is some NYC attitude, which Kristin has no trouble struttin’ through the trendy Hyde Park Village neighborhood of Tampa.  This photoshoot couldn’t have come together any better, and now we’ve got a solid team for future collaboration, and that is really the best part of this whole process, the creative collaboration.

I hope you enjoy the images we put together with LMB Boutique, KDLR Beauty Labs (Kristin De La Renta), because there are going to be a whole lot more coming out in the next few weeks!  I’d love to get your feedback on the images and the looks on my FB Page or Instagram.  Also if you are interested in collaborating, drop me a note!  I’m always looking to add people to the team.
